The project consisted of the gut renovation of two areas. One room was renovated for teaching and research for wet histology, and processing of tissue. The second lab is used for teaching and research for animal surgery on rodents. Because of the requirements for these types of spaces, Graf & Lewent specified all washable surfaces such as an epoxy resin floor, stainless steel casework and surgery tables, and tile walls. Specialty equipment such as an autoclave, fume hood, DEA Drug cabinet, surgery tables and gas cylinder were also integrated into the space.
