Graf & Lewent has worked with Vaughn College since 2003 on projects throughout their Queens, NY campus.  The new Cafeteria shown above replaced an outdated facility in the basement of Vaughn’s main campus building.  The location for the new facility was identified by a Master-Plan prepared by Graf & Lewent, and was built partly within an underutilized maintenance space at the center of the building – originally a 1930’s airplane hangar!  The space was expanded with a Butler Building addition to create the new 4,000 square foot, multi-purpose facility.  The high-ceiling volume, ample daylighting and industrial infrastructure contribute to an inviting and colorful facility.  The project included a full new kitchen, audiovisual systems, programmable lighting and a landscaped outdoor courtyard.
