Allstate Insurance Cafeteria / Conference Room

Graf & Lewent was retained as special design consultant on the renovation of Allstate’s 16,000 square foot cafeteria at their 330,000 square foot Long Island offices.

The key challenge was to devise a method to subdivide the large space, both to create more intimate eating areas, and to allow the facility to perform multiple functions, including presentations to large employee groups in a conference room like setting. Graf & Lewent’s approach was to design mobile, curved room dividers, which could be rearranged according to Allstate’s changing needs. Incorporated into the scheme was multimedia equipment with the ability to have video conferences. In addition, Graf & Lewent was called upon to provide seating layouts and to select and specify new finishes and furnishings throughout the facility.
