Graf & Lewent Architects is working on a gut renovation of 8,800 square feet to create a new Simulation Center for the Institute of Clinical Competence at NYIT. The new design includes a waiting room/reception area, multipurpose simulation rooms, a skills laboratory, 16 patient exam rooms and lounge, debriefing rooms, office space, supply and storage areas as well as advanced AV systems. The skills laboratory includes phlebotomy, IV and urinary catheterization areas. Other specific areas include high fidelity mannequins (including birthing mannequins) and ultrasound simulation. State of the Art Technology that allows the viewing of students is central to the design. New HVAC and finishes are also being installed.
